Can we even say Nintendo was on top with the Wii? I always viewed it as two different demographics and not direct competition. Families were playing the fukk out of Wii sure but I didn't know anyone 18-34 who was using it as their main console

Agreed. I worked at Best Buy and alot of people were buying 2 Wii's at a time (one for the kids, the other for them) and unlike other consoles, people were buying the fukk out of all the accessories for the system

Those numbers are very impressive.
Black Friday and Christmas are literally around the corner so the PS4's first quarterly reports will be pretty crazy. This also makes that struggle thread about PS4's breaking down look ridiculous. Sony flipped a million units yesterday so of course there were going to be some issues.

They'll win the war quite easily since the playstation brand worldwide slaughters the competition. It was only the US and UK where the 360 held it down this gen. They lost everywhere else. PS4 will have no worse than 55 percent of marketshare (and that MIGHT be generous) here in the the US. They are already ahead in preorder sales everywhere else during the launch period. Japan is 100 percent unadultered free sales for Sony.

It's a wrap already. XBone will be 399 next holiday.

Well it shows the console gaming industry at least here in the states is still alive and well. Competition is a good thing. I fully expect the X1 to sell 800K to a million in the same time frame. If we had the glory days of snes vs. the genny man that was epic!

I think 800k is WAY too generous. 600K tops breh. The preorder differences were staggering at places breh. And that 100 dollar difference is huge. If the prices were equal, it'd be one thing, but it's not.
