The first maybe 80% of Breaking Bad worked beautifully, but it's starting to look like an anomaly. These other Gilligan shows are just weirdly paced/structured.
Breaking Bad had unconventional structure and pacing as well. Thats what made it so engaging. And Better Call Saul was just as good as Breaking Bad IMO.

I went in without watching a single trailer. I only read somewhere this show has the greatest pilot of all time. I wouldn’t say all that. But this joint got me intrigued af. I don’t see how this show could go 4 seasons right now. It’s still early though. Maybe there’s more twist and turns planned for the entirety of the series.

I rank episode’s 1 and 2 an 8. I was entertained by both equally. Like I said, it’s still early but it has so much potential, and I’m interested to see where it’s heading.

EDIT: I keep fukking up the name when I try to put people on the show. I mostly call it pearabus (it’s like the L in the actual name throws me off or somethin). But ngl I felt dumb when I told someone to watch paramore, and didn’t realize what I had said until later that day.

I only watched episode 1 since it’s free and watched a few reviews/recaps but I too am in! Gonna download 2 when 3 drops Friday.

I already know where they gonna go with this show, everybody who can’t(or won’t) be assimilated, will be the only ones who can(and will) cause havoc. They will be the villains and potential warlords. I also think ppl might be able to be broken free so it’ll be interesting how all that plays out.

And I see it being compared to LOST already….no matter what you think of how it ended that ride was fantastic so yea count me the fukk in on this, I got a good feeling on this show.

Someone who claims to have seen 7 eps of the season gives a general feel about what the rest of the season(eps 3-6) will feel like. Not really hard spoilers other than saying outright one thing not to expect. They say they got it because they are press and media.

They said(nothing spoilery just compares this show to 2 other shows to give a feel how the episodes play out):
have a much more relaxed Last Man on Earth meets Leftovers vibe than the first couple. There is no rush to have stuff happen just to happen. Very Carol driven

Light spoiler, just saying what not to expect in 3-7
So if people are expecting an alien invasion or whatever they're going to be disappointed.

Light spoiler for ep 7
There is some travel and you get a different POV(not carol's pov)

Im happy with the comparison to the latter show named. I really enjoyed that show. Never watched the first one mentioned so dont know if that's a good thing or not for this show to be compared to that.

Lmao oh hell nah I’m good.

I’ll always have that first episode at least.

Last Man on Earth was cool for what it was, it was light, adventurous, cool concept of what do you do with civilization when it’s only a few of you, when it comes to sex, resources, etc, especially for a sitcom show……but to make a show basically in that frame but with a twist? Nah, fukk that.

With how literal they have been so far, not sure why Carol wouldn't think they would honor her request accurately :skip:

The conversation at the end with the DHL guy :mjlol:

I could see why having a collective trying to please your every wish would get tiring, but I would have ate that breakfast though.

Rhea Seehorn has a really expressive face.

Seeing that little light bulb go on in Carol’s head at the end was fukkin’ priceless. Spanish bro might be the right amount of pushback she needs amongst a hive mind who moves heaven and earth just to please her.

Credit to Rhea, she is nailing the portrayal of the most miserable person on Earth. Carol wasn’t a good hang prior to the apocalypse and damn sure ain’t now. I find her character grating, yet feel for her too because something is clearly not right up there. She’s also not even six days removed from watching her partner and the world die so she has all the right to be spiteful with the hive.

The show’s scale sticks out to me. Seeing those trucks roll into the lot and the logistics of all those people conducting the offloads was something. That’s my first time even hearing of a Sprouts. Got one near me apparently, I may pay a visit.

Good to see a fellow physical media advocate. :smugbiden:

>sees a random Mauritian lothario commandeering the Air Force One
>has every wish/whim catered to and/or executed
>is surprised when given an actual hand-grenade as requested

also the show’s quirky premise and Rhea’s acting chops can only carry interest for so long. I’m not particularly moved by it yet - continues to be a “we’ll see”. Weirdly enough, I think the girl that’s chaperoning Rhea’s character is kinda cool, I guess.
