Police in Valley, Alabama arrested an 82 y/o woman for failure to pay for trash service. The police chief issued a press release defending the arrest.

If you own a home, then yeah, you have to pay for trash service. If you need a bin, you have to pay to rent one. Trash is treated like any other utility. Where I live, I am billed once every 3 months.

Perhaps this woman is low income and can't afford to pay for trash service?? I am sure some kind hearted people will donate and help her pay her trash bill.

i pay my water and sanitation like twice a year, there's not even no late charges, they dgaf

I didn't wanna speak on apartments because some properties include trash & water with the rent. But, I had a rented condo where I had to pay trash & water separately along with electricity, so you are correct.
