Do you prefer automatic or manual transmission?

City cruising in the V on auto :wow:

Gear shifting on the interstate :takedat:

Why do you shift on the highway? I put my car in the highest gear when I cross 60 and I stay at about 75 to 80 for the whole way the rest of my journey, always in the power band. I don't need to shift again unless I make a stop or exit the highway

I’ve had a stick shift for the past 11 years. I’ll probably always have one, even if only as a second car.
Manual all day, folks be talking about it being bad in traffic,:rudy: traffic is trash period I dislike traffic equally between transmissions. Been driving stick exclusively for almost 15 years now

Oh. I guess in my car I can do that in fifth gear :yeshrug: I think our highway speed limit is higher in this country than the US, so like I said you're in the power band at highway speed in fifth and if you punch it the engine is responsive straight away and puts the power down

Manuals are fun as hell but to my knowledge, these days, cars that have automatic transmissions have more gears and are much faster. Like the M3 or the challenger.

:yeshrug:

Could be wrong though. I only have basic car knowledge.

yeah it depends on the power the car has and the gear ratios. I can leave my car in 6th and pass, but shift to 4th and flooring it, will have you passing them before they even realize it and can block you, as they like to do around here. My old car couldn’t do shyt in 6th.

I've owned over 40 different cars and only three were automatic. To me driving an automatic takes all the fun out of driving. I live in ATL and have no issue driving stick in traffic even with a twin disk clutch set-up (extremely hard to drive compared to normal OEM clutches).
