[Poll] Auto vs. Manual Transmission

I'm from London and manual is getting damn near pointless.

Also in our inner neighbourhood roads, they are making the speed limit 20MPH

My next car will be stick shift. I'm thinking Audi S4 or Challenger 392

The choices these days are very slim when it comes to Performance + Manual + Carry passengers

Manuals are fun as hell but to my knowledge, these days, cars that have automatic transmissions have more gears and are much faster. Like the M3 or the challenger.



Could be wrong though. I only have basic car knowledge.

Automatics are much faster, but nikkas don't care about lsp times. Besides, you have that much more clout with a manual because it requires skill. Any young buck can jump in an automatic and press the gas pedal

Manual used to be better for gas, repairs etc., but now automatics are more efficient than even the best stick driver.

On suburban or rural roads, it's a lot of fun but there's no logistical reason to get one outside of nostalgia. Also, if you live in a place where your car can't be parked in a garage, your car is nice AND there are a lot of car thefts........the stick will prevent (MOST) people from successfully jacking your ride.

I used to prefer stick shift because you got better gas mileage. But that was back in the day, now the tech is so precise with automatic that there is no difference in fuel economy, in fact automatics might be better now.

Depends on the car and purpose

Sports/ muscle cars=manual (unless you're trying to race)

Everything else=automatic

I'm voting manual cuz down shifting and letting the V8 clear it's throat is
