I’ve always been fascinated by polygamy, and I’ve watched many polygamy documentaries, did a college paper on polygamy, and watch several polygamy reality shows including Sister Wives, Polygamy USA, My Five Wives. 3 Wives, One Husband, and Seeking Sister Wife.
Those women are miserable. They only stay because of their religious belief that they need to live that way to get into heaven. They believe in the afterlife, each family gets a planet, and the bigger your family is, the bigger your planet. And THAT is the goal. Multiple wives means a large amount of children. Each wife has at least 4 children, and the women with fertility problems are the most insecure.
The women rarely get along, and the man is stressed trying to please all the women. The average woman who does not have a religious tie to that lifestyle will not be down for sharing her man. And the men aren’t lavishing with multiple women, having orgies, etc.
So when they say they are okay with it, it means they are okay with OTHER people living that lifestyle, and not in favor of them being legally prosecuted. That’s another thing. The first wife is the legal wife, and the other wives are spiritual wives, and qualify for government assistance. They get cash welfare, section 8, and welfare. The state of Utah is consistently dealing with that kind of welfare fraud, because the women qualify for the benefits, but live with the man, and share their EBT food with the other wives’ children, and collect the checks.

My grandfather had many wives. In Western culture people only talk about Polygamy from the lens of having sex.
If this becomes acceptable in the US expect mass shootings and home grown terrorism to rise from incels & broke men.
The reason I say this is because we already see with the baby mama/ multiple ex wives culture these women could & would get along if & when more money is involved. And Rich/Stable dudes know that, that's why they don't sweat it till they're broke.
If dudes wit money could have multiple wives legally they'd never suffer through a divorce and cut deals to the chick they don't want. She keeps the name, kids & the home while he's out with the next "wife". The avg man will not be able to compete.

These are white people in Utah tho, I’m the 21st century. Polygamy didn’t end too long ago where my folks are from in Africa and you didn’t hear a ton of complaints. That was also a much more traditional society though with women who were way more submissive than the average 21st century American chick.
I guess I’ve never done any in depth research on it, but I’m curious if all those issues would apply in more traditional societies
