Pope Francis has been quoted as saying that reliable data indicates that "about 2%" of clergy in the Catholic Church are paedophiles.

The Pope said that abuse of children was like "leprosy" infecting the Church, according to the Italian La Repubblica newspaper.

He vowed to "confront it with the severity it demands".

Two percent seems like a low number but pedophiles have numerous victims even into the hundreds.

I was surprised to the learn that about 350,000 people in the US convert to Catholicism every year. The growth of the Catholic Church in Africa is staggering, so apparently the church is still relevant to a lot of people.
