GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said two murder suspects have been arrested after a man was found dead in a hotel on Friday night.
Deputies were called to a Days Inn and Suites along Roper Mountain Road at around 7:47 p.m. after someone reported a burglary in progress. They arrived at the scene and found one person dead inside a room.
The coroner identified the victim as 29-year-old Deontay Jay Lynch.
Deputies said 21-year-old Joeanna Isabela Badger and 20-year-old Devonte Tyrese Orr were arrested in Jasper County over the weekend. Investigators said Badger and Orr visited Lynch at the Days Inn and shot him to death.
The motive for the homicide is still under investigation, deputies said.
Both suspects are charged with murder, burglary and conspiracy. Orr is also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They were both denied bond during a hearing Tuesday night.
