I'd like to apologize to those whom felt or assumed I had SENSATIONALIZED this tragic situation with the headline reading "possible civil war"....

that wasn't my intent at all :whoa:

the situation just reminded me of the 1980 election in which I had a aunt whom worked at the University of West Indies during that time whom spoke often of how the JLP PNP conflict was basically a civil war ripping communities and families apart in Jamaica.

and as a Socio Political buff and dancehall culture advocate I've always been intrigued by issues dealing with JA.

because at the same time regardless how accostmed many have gotten in regards to political violence

it's not good at all especially considering both ideologies were not originated Jamaicans or black, people in general as well as the fact that we don't own or benefit from these, political dogmas ad well

so yes the violence is senseless

JLP and PNP.. :scust:. i remember those days as little youngster. fighting, killing, more violence. people killing each other instead if using their heads. ever since the infamous Jim "Lester Coke" Brown controlled his gang in the old school days shyt never changed after that. even that toubo Edward Seaga was working with criminals. cacs.. :scust:

just like the Democratics and Republican movement. they're all the same corrupt system that white supremacy implemented throughout the world.

The Chinese have been promising to build up infrastructure in exchange for unfettered access to minerals and other natural resources. The Chinese are also building a lot of larger sized shopping markets and selling Chinese (shytty knock off) goods in them :francis:

Jamaica and many other nations are being sold down the river by their governments to the Chinese :francis:

Chinese will completely dominant the elite class in 10-15 years in Jamaica (and most likely most African nations):francis:

I thought a lot of the business owners were already Chinese( the mixed ones included)?
Anyway I think there's also plans in the making to make Jamaica some kind of international logistics trade hub.

:sadcam:

Bout to be a economic proxy war in the Caribbean, brehs.
Hope my folks wisen up and start playing the sides against one another.
:ohhh: So fukking true, my mother was telling me how hard the US was hating on Manley, the CIA propaganda warfare was ridiculous, and Jamaica was on the up and up too.

My pop's said the same thing.

Best believe that CIA was meddling out there because of Manley's stance.
I think he said something about a lot of the stores mysteriously having to scale back on a lot of what they was selling overnight because of ....reasons.( Mini Embargo?)
Think he said they opened up back the next day.
Maybe it was a scare tactic?

I thought Jamaica's economy was doing well :dahell:

Economy as a whole supposed to be improving. Its got its good and bad.

The the stock market did really well though. Lottery scamming is being cracked down on harder. Praedial larceny (I hate this shyt the most) Is also being worked on.

I hope that Zika shyt isn't gonna hurt too much though.

With Venezuela and Haiti fukked, I think Jamaica has the power to start punching above its weight in economics to be very competitive the Carribean region.

I'm optimistic about where the country is headed though. My father can't wait to start farming asap.

Logistics hub dream a step closer to reality

Jamaica has been crazy like that for awhile

Between the
1. Corrupt and incompetent leadership
2. The allowance of free trade that has basically priced out local producers and farmers.
3. Foreign companies allowed to take over much of (if not all) the raw mineral mining and refining
4. Incursion of the Chinese

Jamaica is in a really rough spot, People are pissed to fukk off that their country is being sold down a river so blatantly
and yet

yeah Michael Manley I can truly say cared foe Jamaica particularly the underclass

during his time in office not only the GDP flourished but the culture as well...

Dancehall and Rastafarianisim rose to prominence during his administration. .

that's why u see nuff subsystems that developed during that time with Socialist themes like Socialist Roots and Stereomaars with its annual PNP political,rallies/dances that Manley would pop up at

the influence was even felt abroad with Volcano sounds which was prominent in the UK as well with its PNP loyalist Operator the late great JUNJO

America was not exempt. .I for one came in contact with many PNP/SPLANGER posse personalities when I was living in Brooklyn with mi aunt pon CHURCH AVE!!

Listening to the sounds on the cassette by the great KING ADDIES sound

So just spoke to pops about what I mentioned earlier.

It describes the 1980 election.

From what he said, it looks like the local merchants, business-class, JLP politicians, and the CIA were working together to create a an artificial shortage of goods because of Manley's rhetoric and closeness with Cuba. I guess Manley didn't do a good job propaganda-wise of alleviating fears that the country wasn't going red. That, plus the fact that he made the little miami comment and had introduced welfare programs had a lot of business owners(wealthy blacks, Chinese, Syrians, Indians) fall into the JLP camp.

A lot of the merchants held their goods in storage until the JLP won less than a few days later. And it was all peachy after that. Somehow the food was plenty again.
Now he said no one saw the CIA's hand in it, but those people are work covertly so....yeah. He guesses they were advising merchants to hold back on goods, maybe a little gun running, intimidation, and providing logistics support for food/goods dumping.

Again no one saw, but the rumors were/are unusually persistant.

Anyway, he also mentioned that PNP wasn't entirely innocent up this point.
Apparently, the ordinary people from winning party (PNP) requisitioned peoples belongings if they found out that you were JLP when Manley won. Of course, this is all unofficial.:francis:

Now mix in gun-men between JLP and PNP( used to pressure people into voting for their party), horrible conflict resolution between the 2 parties and the peoples and you've got a explosive recipe for political violence.

Was shocked when he told me that certain areas were one party entirely. You had gun-men coming on the bus telling people you had to come off if you weren't part of the party of the area, people having to pretend to follow one party in order not to get shot, or being careful of which party color you were wearing.

It was and still is on some Mafia shyt, brehs.
