It's insane how we're still judging anything related to art by how many times people buy it.

Not insane at all, considering we’re talking about show BUSINESS and pop culture…how much money its raking in and how POPular it is is literally fundamental to said “art” even existing in the first place

It’s a fukking Post Malone album, I’d find it more weird if muhfukkas were in here ruminating on millennial angst and existential dread and how it ties into the making of his new song with Doja Cat or some shyt :mjlol:

I’ve been learning the business side of things and it matters. I hate when people use it as a metric for quality but Post selling this much after having one of the most successful albums of the last decade with multiple Diamond singles and videos over a billion views says a lot.

Harry Styles went from 500k to a little over 100k, kendrick underperformed, but Future has had consistent sells and Bad Bunny who will probably have the number 1 album next whose albums been out for more than a month and it’s selling over 100k definitely is going to change the way labels and artists do things going forward the rest of the year.

Artists use sells for budgeting and marketing which is why it matters and fans should really support them with streams and if they can buy purchasing physicals and merch.
