Sounds cute until you're around people you do respect and have no idea how to deal with them.
Once I realized to generally do the opposite of my dad, I was good.

My father told me not to get fat because men don't like fat women. And to buy new drawes because no man wants to look at raggedy panties. I must admit it was one of the most uncomfortable conversations of my life.
