this seems about normal for red states, anyway. i was subjected to some heavily sanitized historical info and mild jingoism in k-12, and some downright hostile rightwing stuff in college. before prageru existed.

we even used to have this guy named sheriff joe arpaio do mandatory assemblies when i was a child. he later went on to become a major birther and arrestor of latinos unconstitutionally.
