That's a crazy difference. 0.5%. Even 5% doesn't seem enough for that much of a jump in intelligence.

Breh wants to throw around kamehamehas. But I agree, I think there's room for evolution, natural evolution, within humans. We let technology get in the way of that pursuit though.
I don't think even with that evolution we'd be able to overcome that gap of intelligence that's described in the OP.

We know there are no close by inhabitable (by our standards) or livable planets. We have not seen life close by. Aliens coming here would be traversing vast distances. That already shows they have abilities we don't

im saying that reality could be fractal like (IE the smaller you go, you end up in the "large" places we see in the other direction)
for instance, its assumed that DNA and RNA etc just came to be, but if they are designed then it means there are even larger "DNA like" shadows above and below it relative its horizon

The whole concept of the "Dumb" alien is a trope that's been sold to you by the Cacs of Hollywood that decided that anything not white or American, at the same time, needed to be different to a HIGHLY discernable level and smart enough to seem a threat but ultimately conquerable due to plot armour American Wit and Ingenuity.
