classic album, i remember when the LP first leaked, damn. Makes me feel old

I love the production on this album...all throwback 70s soul shyt

the problem with it comes from Ghost kind of dumbing down his lyrics on this joint compared to his previous works

his reaction to people saying he made no sense on SC led to BW being nearly entirely concept & story verses, but when that went triple cardboard (mainly due to label fukk ups & songs not being cleared, not on Ghost at all), he took it as a criticism on him & stepped back the spitting on Pretty Tony (he came back through on Fishscale, though)

still really enjoy the album...just wish Ghost would have let the muzzle off and really gone in on some of these tracks though

All of them dope. Ghost the most consistent in the game. "lastnight (skit)" on Pretty Toney is another gem:

By the way, have ya'll been listening to those Wu-Block tracks so far? Ghost has been killing Sheek on them tracks. It really shoulda been Ghost and Styles instead cause Sheek really has regressed as an MC. At least going from what I've heard recently.

Run's the only standout cut on this.

"Biscuits", "Beat The Clock", "Metal Lungies" (50's version is much better) and "Love" are tolerable but if I never heard them again, I wouldn't trip. I can see why this album went wood, too. Beats were mediocre, with the exception of "Run" (which is fukking fantastic).

Album goes hard and but shytted on by most Wu Heads.

Because it wasn't good. and that remains true.

At the time, Run was the dopest song I'd heard in ages. To call that beat tough would be an insult to how tough it actually is. But can we get Comp outta here please?
