Pricing for the Nintendo Switch 2 system, physical and digital Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games, as well as Nintendo Switch Online memberships, will remain unchanged at this time. However, please note that price adjustments may be necessary in the future.

If it’s not a holiday gift for somebody, where you got a deadline, or maybe a kid where it matters a little less, you would be a fool to not put another 100 away for the console that’s getting supported for much longer. At least until they raise the 2’s price.

Sidenote, the 2 is just available on the website now :ehh: I’m still waiting for more games than DK to play before I cop, but just like a suspected, they won’t be hard to find compared to last time

Btw a switch 2 in Japan is like $330 :dead:
I was just out there last month; there’s two options. You can buy a regular Switch 2 for $450 or a $330 Switch 2 that is clearly labeled as region locked, FWIW. Japan is an important market to Nintendo, and they’re not being subjected to tariffs. It sucks from the outside, but it makes sense.

This is obviously because of the Japan-US tariff “deal” that keeps a flat 15% tariff on all Japanese non-auto imports entering the US.

At this point, all three console manufacturers have raised the price on their old ass consoles… that’s clearly due to these tariffs fukking up the market. Stupidest economic policy we’ve seen in in the US in the last 50 years.

The switch 1 slowed down a lot already over the past year. Makes me wonder if it still has a shot of outselling the PS2 with this price increase

I can’t imagine anyone picking up a OG switch for 50 dollars less than a switch 2 :patrice:

It makes 0 sense. The only thing going for it is battery life. Everything else is in the Switch 2's favor. I guess some will say OLED, but just wait for the OLED Switch 2 at that point.
