Priebus has been around long enough to know how stories are sourced by the press. he doesn't believe half the shyt he is saying but Eon Cheeto has ordered him carry out these baseless fake news attacks.

It does seem Wallace and Shepard have some backbone at least.
I think that Trump's efforts of trying to hurt the media by calling them fake has actually backfired and is making FOX job really hard and they have had to step up if they want to be seen as legit. Fox definitely stretchs the truth on their stories, but they have always at least tried to cloak it and make it sound legit.
However, Trump is telling such big lies that even FOX can not and will not cover for him. Trump is cynical and he has literally painted FOX in a corner, because Trump continually states that every network, except FOX, is fake. So when Trump goes out and tells his usual gigantic lies (crowd size, terrorist attacks, etc.) if FOX does not denounce them then FOX would literally be spreading fake news. Trump is so cynical that he knows that FOX either has to defend him or he will label them fake news too.
