Priest and it's not even close.
Hudlin. Priest did amazing things but that Casper Cole run ruined it for me. The panther also seemed less like a character and more like a force of nature or some sort of device.

Loved Priest's version but VASTLY prefer Hudlin's..
Hudlin wrote T'Challa who narrated his OWN book whereas Priest felt like he HAD to pander to white audiences so he wrote Everett Ross as the narrator, essentially making T'Challa take a narrative back seat in his own book. Also I hate Kasper Cole...
Hudlin wrote a T'Challa who was unabashedly bad ass. He was THE Hero that Stark, Cap, and Thor are always written to be. T'Challa was well aware that he was the smartest man in the room. He was aware of his strengths and his foes weaknesses, he was married to one of the most powerful BLACK WOMEN in the entire Marvel universe. He was THE man and reading Hudlin's work was an exciting treasure trove of pulp and fun
