I agree, My top 5 prince albums are all 80's era prince.

Prince had some heat in the 90s but they don't measure to the 80's prince even 70's prince albums brought that hot fire.

The Love Symbol album
D&Ps
The Black album
Crystal Ball
The Gold Experience( kinda meh but a few good songs)
Emancipation
were all decent but they are not touching that 80's prince heat :whew:

if you want to add N.E.W.S in there you can too.

yeah, prince in the 80's was unbelievable. if i had to pick 2 of his 90's albums as my favorites it'd be diamonds and pearls along with the gold experience.

diamonds and pearls was decent. it wasn't or isn't fukkin' with his 80's work of course but it had some nice songs on it... diamonds and pearls was a beautiful song, get off was a nice dance track, cream was cool, insatiable was really good and willing and able was my shyt.

the black album was funny to me and i enjoy it for what it is but it's nothin' to really sneeze at. parts of crystal ball were cool (make ya mama proud was my 1 of my favorites) but it would've been better if he had left those songs be what they were originally back in 1985. he reworked a lot of the songs on there in the 90's. the original unreleased crystal ball album of the mid 80's is far better, like valleys, peaks and classic better. in the 80's crystal ball was the original sign o the times before he reworked down to 2 discs instead of 3 discs

again, some of his 90's albums had some gems on them like "damn u", "shhh", "and god created woman", "eye hate u","the most beautiful girl in the world", "the continental" --- the beat switch up w/ carmen electra talkin', "gold", "joy in repetition", "the question of u", "dinner with delores", "love sign shock g's silky remix", "somebody's somebody", "in this bed eye scream", "letitgo" and a few others but prince by the 90's had exhausted himself. bruh had written, produced and arranged so much classic material in the 80's for himself and countless others that it was evitable his creativity had waned in the 90's. after all, he's still only human

So true, all of the unreleased 80's stuff is just good as the released material. Wonderful Ass ,Purple Music, Clorine bacon skin ..so many unreleased gems :lawd:
Prince was truly a machine in the 80's with the help of the revolution of course.
Also the rework of extra lovable was not that great.

agreed. i'm in awe of 3 things with prince; his work ethic, the quality of his work and the quantity of his work. like usually an artist might be great at 1 thing and then good at another or 2 but bruh was great at all three and he won't just himself he was writin' for himself. he had the time, sheila e, sheena easton, the bangles, stevie knicks, etc

prince was the man in the 80's; makin' classic music and smashin' fine ass women (vanity, jill jones, susannah melvoin, kim basinger etc)
