You know they're going to take every chorus and verse he decided to scrap and turn it into a "memorial album". He's going to be turning in his grave.

Edit: Isn't that what LA Reid did when MJ died?

The estate is probably trying to keep paisley park open. They should turn it into a museum and events center though. It was a huge costly operation I sure. This licensing deal probably will generate some much needed income. One can only hope that the materials produced through this deal are tasteful and within Prince's spirit.

This is all of his stuff from 1995 and on & unreleased material from the vault.

They'e better off just using that material as is.

You guys are over reacting

This is just a licensing deal for his catalog for a limited time

And actually benifits the Prince estate considering UMG (universal) has the leverage and connections to secure the most exposure and revenue for the Prince Catalog...

shyt is about to get snatched off of spotify and Youtube again

:rudy: Universal has a licensing deal as well as royalty venture in place with YouTube and Spotify....

In fact the brass at Universal was the first to secure a deal with YouTube when former Universal CEO Doug Morris created VEVO

Prince just like Michael is a Major POP Icon brand they HAVE to work with a Major in order to maintain that gllobal presence

Because THE MAJORS control or have a stake in all the media outlets...(radio..streaming...print... advertising)

Without this it's possible a brand like Prince could dwindle into obscurity..

Is it EXPLOITIVE?

yes no doubt.....

But that's the price of FAME...

PRINCE "signed" up for this when he obtained his first record deal with the Major Label WARNER BROS..

He became just as much as a MACHINE as the MACHINE he was fighting against
