nah. shyt was wild disrespectful especially when you know what harry belafonte did during the civil rights movement. he was a star and was on the front lines when it was still very dangerous to be a black man in america. so for another man you paved the way for to call you a "boy" is crazy. if there was no harry belafonte there would be no jay-z. we all know how white people would call grown black men "boy" to reference their inferiority. i just found it extremely offensive and immature and i've been a huge jay-z fan since i was 10.
Belafonte did great things yes but he still came at Jay and his wife on some bullshyt. But I do hate the way Jay responded. He could have really made Belafonte fall back but calling him "boy" was wack.

not disagreeing. shyt still makes me cringe. but if someone publically disrespected a family member, who knows what i would do. i mean, as much as you owe loyalty to your people, you owe loyalty to ya family first.
