you talkin bout tha slang and content

i'm talkin bout "cadence" & delivery, i guess you saying bay nikkaz rapped with a certain flair and cartoonish voices, thats true, but then again certain ones did not:

too short, rappin ron, mac mall, etc... all rapped with a normal voice/delivery

So what? What makes all NYC rappers' delivery different among all rappers there and other regions? Most NY nikkas rap with normal voices too.
:upsetfavre:

At the end of the day at some level, Cali nikkas are Cali nikkas. Cali nikkas have the same accents from Daygo to Sac because most black families in Cali have those deep Southern roots from the 40's from places like Louisiana and Texas. But not all nikkas in the Bay have accents. Some nikkas have very deep Cali accents and others could be mistaken for being from somewhere else.

And if you think Bay and L.A. music sound that similar, you are hella wrong. Most underground Bay music (i.e. Cellski, 11-5, Seagram etc.) is much darker, rawer and unpolished because nikkas were never signed to majors and never sat in boardroom meetings with 70 year old white men in suits. Many of them were real live d-boys who used re-up money to buy recording equipment or go to the studio instead of hitting the block again. Hella shyt from the Bay was waaay too hard for the fukking radio because there was no uptight professional white men in suits acting as the middle man saying what you can and can't say. L.A.'s most popular music is warmer and more about partying, fukking bytches, smoking weed and getting drunk at house parties although L.A. did have its underground music made for banging and drive by's. :bustback:

Also, on a basic level, Bay beats have much heavier deeper bass, more live instrumentation using bass and guitars and less reliance on funk samples than L.A. music. Its been like that since Too $hort in the 80's.

And the subject matter of Bay music was often much different than L.A. Rap. The Bay birthed pimp/mack Rap with Too $hort with followers like Dru Down, Mac Mall, Mac Dre, Dubee Sugawolf etc. Both L.A. and the Bay had music for the gang bangers and mobsters. But you will never hear Bay Area mob music talking about Cripping, Blooding or Piru this or that because the Bay never even had that shyt on a real level.:manny:

Funny how people will speak so matter of factly on topics like they are all knowing.

Problem's seperation track will appeal to anyone from any region that rocks with real music. I listened to the full mixtape and his lyrics and skills allowed me to feel his music even tho they were those west coast type beats that i dont really rock with.

He is one of the few artists out here who could legitmately take it to the next level

Its personal when folks try to talk down on your region as being unoriginal followers when they only have a casual spectator view of the culture of your area. Its like someone who casually watches football telling you how much your mob sucks.
