Soul Survivor is my all time fav, this is pretty much the gold standard for me. the guestlist is godly, and the production matched

Soul Assassins

(you already knew i was pickin that one lol)

those seem to be the consensus all-timers, so the rest of a list interests me.

Hi-Teknology is next to me, that's just a unique sounding album. his sound was established, and he killed it with some fitting features

Jake One gets extra points for White Van Music, if only because of the time it was released. 07 had a ton of different production styles going around, he just grabbed an all-star list and made some dope shyt around it. i think this has aged extremely well

Ghost Dog is RZA's least appreciated piece of top shelf work. You have a great score, and an entirely different OST with tons of guests from the Wu World. there's a sad tone to everything in the work, no humor, bleak. it matched the film well

my favorite Alchemist projects are ones with 1 mc (both with P/Rare Chandeliers etc) but 1st Infantry is always a fav. it has a couple joints that have not aged that great to me, but it's still got plenty bangers and an amazing cast. a good partner to this is the Insomnia mixtape, which debuted Tick Tock and had some gems that did not make the album

King of The Wigflip is EASILY Madlib's most underrated project. he usually favors 1 mc projects, or sometimes 2 like say Blu and MED. this format was unique for him, i loved it. there's soul, raw bars, some spacey spoken word. shyts fire

Dilla-The Shining. not much to be said, everyone should know this. i've seen this performed live, the joy in peoples faces was nice to see

DJ Honda-h. the first 2 Honda albums are up there with some of the heavyweights, great guests, classic mid 90s sound done by a Japanese man. very authentic feel in the music

this isnt top 10 for me musically, but i have to give a spot for Marley Marl's In Control for pioneering the format. he used his growing name in the game to feature Cold Chillin's established and new artists.

Some of the best have been named

Kankick - From Artz Unknown

the instrumental interludes here are fantastic and some kinda wasted in a way
