This is probably the wrong forum but not sure where this would go, so...
Well, a couple of weeks ago I decided to google myself and remove old pictures and all profiles that I ever created and no longer use off of google. I was pretty successful until a profile on profileengine.com, which I never created, showed up...
Basically, what I found out is, that profileengine used to work with Facebook until Facebook decided they no longer needed their services. They were pissed off, had the rights to all of our pictures and information and they created profileengine and opened random peoples accounts.
I've been trying to get "my" profile deleted but it's nearly impossible! They won't even let you claim the profile unless you send them a copy of your ID, birth certificate, drivers license, death certificate or whatever...
They say I can blurr out everything on my ID except for my name and picture. Could it still be used for identity theft?
Has anyone successfully dealt with that mess and got their stuff deleted?
If you are or ever were on Facebook, check if you can find yourself on there.
