Personally, I always felt like Project Pat's signature flow fit perfectly into the pocket of this beat. When I look past the big names on International Player's Anthem, Pat's version, while more simple, is just doper IMO. Nobody on IPA rode the beat better than him. (Pimp C is a close 2nd)

I been revisiting Pat's early catalougue lately (from Ghetty Green up to Layin the Smack Down). His flow just has that perfect bounce where he's crunk yet steady at the same time. shyt is too dope. :wow:

i ain't really delved fully into pat's or 3 6's discography but i from i have heard i feel like they are very underrated in terms of influence. production and rapping wise. like pat's sphere of influence extends from skepta through to gucci mane, anyone able to suggest what 3 6 solo and group i should listen to and in what order?

For 3-6 as a group, I would start with Chapter 2: World Domination. It was the exact midpoint between their underground days and the start of their mainstream exposure. Their best group album front to back IMO.

With Pat, start with Ghetty Green and Mista Don't Play. Ghetty is an underground classic and his best but Mista Don't Play was a huge success and had some GOAT level singles.

Some of y'all who not from the South might not understand my perspective. I recall vividly when Pat's was getting major radio play down here in '02-03 plus I had the Layin the Smack Down album.

When I first heard the UGK song my immediate reaction was "Damn, they straightup re-used Pat's beat". Despite being a huge Kast & UGK fan, I had to warm up to it after hearing Pat's for so long.

i always liked Pat's version too... it was one of my favorite tracks, used to play it on repeat.

I remember hearing UGK & outkast's version for the first time like :dahell:"these a-list nikkas done stole project pat's beat....."
