Was downtown Seattle and there was a "black lives matter" rally.
Shockingly organized and coreographed, but felt hollow. I was talking to a local reporter off to the side casually (Essex Porter for Seattle folks)..and for both of us as black men it felt really fugazi...I asked him his opinion off the record "if I had an opinion...I'd give it to you ON the record
"
I have seen protestor for hire signs in seattle...i asked three people straight up if they were hired...all two said yeah. One said yeah but he supports BLM.
very disappointing. Not because of this protest in particular but a protest for hire is like 11/10 on the bullshyt meter to me.
Protests in Seattle seem more to be a collection of people protesting to protest...like the same people who fukk things up on Mayday, and dont have any real reason.
