The Xbox one is designed to stay on for 10yrs straight, my shyt been on since 2013 with no issues outside of the issues that accompany being in the dashboard beta program

If this was the case millions of PS4 consoles would have started bricking before the 1 year mark.

Sony's issue is improper ventilation inside the box. Starts melting the non metallic solder balls underneath.

some people generally change from 6 to 12 months, others generally do it at the last minute. There is also a question of the quality of the paste used. What minerals are in it. And so forth. Too many factors
