I don't think he's providing that as an "excuse". But if the two consoles were equally desired before price came into the picture, then the cheaper one should theoretically sell better. If anything, that's where MS went "wrong". By including a Kinect that most early adopters don't particularly care about (that's not a value statement). The Wii U is cheaper but it's not nearly as good of a *value*. It's cheaper but it's a lot less powerful and doesn't have many 3rd party games most people are interested in.
