PSA: Stop building up Resolutions/FPS as if they mean something and dry season/thirsty for next gen

Frame rate and resolution matter to me. They enhance the gaming experience.

When I used to play on the PC with limited funds, I would sacrifice texture, Shading, Shadows, and Aliasing in order to have a 60 FPS and high resolution. I can't stand 30fps.

I am Xbot stan, but the low frame rate and low Resolutions issues have me not wanting to buy and Xbox and just passing on Console Gaming completely. Buying a Sony product is completely out of the question. Fukk Sony. I would rather die than spend one penny on their bullshyt products.

what happened to jumping on on koopas why can't we soup up cars like in midnight club 2 no more picking up rings with sonic or playing through side scrolling maps trying to jump and hit boxes like crash bandicoot

but nah lets fill the subforum up with threads talking about ps4 has 1030 fps and xb1 has 980

More fun with guns and the first person perspective is more immersive.

Because its boring and child-like. I wouldn't mind having more games like contra or castlevania. Action games with insane difficulty. Metriod and the Later Castlevania Games are good too.

this is rose colored glasses. sega and nintendo created these console wars 24 years ago and tech was one of the primary deciding factors. as a matter of fact, tech was the only reason to buy a new generation of console, and the way each company spec'd out their consoles influenced which genres of games would flourish on that platform.

it's no surprise that during the 16 bit era, nintendo games emphasized bright, colorful graphics, and sega focused on fast moving action.

what about buying a system because the majority of games you like are coming out specifically on said system man somethimes i think yall nikkas deserve getting fleeced out of 60-75 dollars for these 5 hour games just cause they got hyper-realistic graphics, you do realize that that's what alot of these game studios are PURPOSELY doing to yall right? then diggin more in yall pockets with the DLC money even though it could have easily fit into the original game. but just ignore all of that cuz the trees in-game look as real as the trees in your backyard

Nah.... I remember when Mortal Kombat 1 came out o Consoles back in the day. I was a Sega Genesis Stan. Mortal Kombat had all the blood on Sega and SNES didn't... but... When I played MK1 on the SNES at a friend's house, I had to swallow my pride and admit that the SNES version was just straight-up superior in every aspect, except for the blood.

By the time MK2 dropped, I already had a SNES (I got lucky at a swap-meet and bought one for cheap) and the Genesis was collecting dust. Graphics matter bro. I was sega nut, but I had to let go and embrace the SNES because it was plainly superior to the Genesis.

Games are made over time so it's important to know what you're getting in your new console. You want bigger worlds, better AI, more dynamic combat situations, more realism in certain titles etc. then you need beefier hardware. Imagine if the pS3/360 stuck with the PS2/Xbox hardware, a game like GTA V or Batman Akrham City probably wouldn't have been able to work.

I agree...But the average person really can't tell the difference. Most people like me are casual gamers, all that nerdy spec shyt means nothing to us. If the Xbox was cheaper then the playstation then it would be leading that's really all people care about that are not hardcore gamers which is the majority.
