Sacramento State University spent $100,000 to have rapper Lil Yachty perform after a football game at Hornet Stadium, according to a contract obtained by CBS13.

You can at least break even with student ticket sales and ticket sales for the rest of the public too. It's been a minute since I've been in college and I can't remember if we had to pay for the concerts we would have for homecoming.

This. The school has 30,000 students. Their tuition likely covers a student entertainment budget for stuff like this and they may charge students like $10-$20 for tickets and non students like $40. They already own the venue.

At least that’s how I think I remember it at my school. Think we got B.O.B back in 2011. Student tickets I don’t remember but I think it depends on when you bought tickets. Initially student tickets were like $10 then maybe went up to $20 if you bought day of.

Sac State has around $50M's raised in support of their football program to justify their desire to move up to FBS....something like this could've easily just been proof of concept that they have the attendance to warrant the ability to do things like this.


If they actually do get their program to FBS status (even if it's the Mountain West), they wouldn't really have much competition in Northern California when it comes to recruiting football talent...especially the Bay.
