Under The Cherry Moon got a lot of hate thrown it's way when it came out but I always thought the movie was hilarious. First off, it's Prince and Jerome in Paris as gigolos and sleeping with women for their money. That in itself is funny, lol. But Prince and Jerome have so many classic quotes in this film and it's quite clear that Prince wanted to capitalize off of the chemistry Morris Day and Jerome had in Purple Rain. But I've always enjoyed watching Under The Cherry Moon just as much as Purple Rain.

Here are some of my favorite parts in the movie:

Cherry Moon took itself too serious :aicmon:

But, yes Purple Rain is still the GOAT

naw people were just expecting prince to sing as much as he did in purple rain, Soundtrack is dope got a nice funky yet laid back vibe to it, I stole so many quotables from this flick, i bedded this one broad before she was all "do you love me?" i was like "define love."

i was too young when the flick came out but over time i learned to play purple rain on the piano, I got heavily into music like id hunt down tracks that certain artists would do and interpolation of on their albums.Thats when i got into prince because he was like a new age cabe calloway meets sly and family stone meets george clinton.

Anyway the film itself its a comedy but with class to coin a phrase its "n*ggas in paris"

i could only play the melody to purple rain not the full song, that was in highschool tho my teacher must have been a prince fan because thats where i got it from, man if i could go back in time id ask for those music sheets back because id relearn to play piano again if that meant i could learn to play fathers song on piano

i seen that its funny as hell esp the "quit talking to me like appollonia" bit :myman: but....for an interview that was taken in what 2001-02? why the fukk are people in the audience dressed like its 1994 :pachaha:

This was a better movie than it got credit for at the time. Like most of Prince's music, it has aged pretty well and I like that he took a more subdued approach compared to the neon feel of Purple Rain. Also the soundtrack grew on me, I liked it after a few listens. Purple Rain is a classic film but this one is definitely worth checking out, just as long as you stay away from Grafitti Bridge :scusthov:
