To me the essential albums are Mista Don't Play (an indisputable timeless classic) and Crook by the Book. Honestly its hard to go wrong with his early shyt though. I haven't been feeling a lot of his more recent work, but Ghetty Green, Layin' the Smack Down and all the random shyt from that era is all piff
