They were mistaken to think this would end in a few months. Putin has made it clear since 2014 he’s interested is drawing this out until he gets what he wants

:camby:Putin thought he’d be done in a week now the west is making that clown go the distance. He’ll be dead from cancer before they beat Ukraine. How do you figure he wants to drag out a war against the West that he can’t win?

Is that really true or is that what the press has been saying? :francis: It’s almost as though you’re not aware we’ve been fighting a proxy war against Russia since 2014. All your seeing is an extension of what’s been happening for the last 8 years 😅. All this media posturing is just politicians keeping up public support to justify spending and intervention

It’s beneficial for him to drag this out a year to undercut NATO’s momentum and undermine public support. If he continues to drag out this war, people will lose interest the same way they did Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and everywhere else. Good luck continuing to tell Europeans to take the economical hit that comes with supporting a non NATO nation with these sanctions. Let’s be honest here man, people don’t like war, inflation is hurting everyone, and most Germans want to get back to their booming economy. Britain and France have already articulated their openness to allowing Putin keep more parts of Ukraine if he stops the war

I don’t remember Germans viewing Putin the same way we do. Honestly, I don’t even remember South Koreans caring that much about North Korea when I was stationed there either. A lot of Germans soldiers I know just want to move on from this. Poland and nearby Scandinavia countries are worried, but the countries that matter don’t see this as a 9/11 event
