Lions fan here
End of the day Johnson's offense takes time to get right, and it took the Lions multiple games before it clicked in 2022. I have questions about whether Caleb can run it at a high level given that he's not a super accurate passer but I still think he'll be good.
The thing I have zero faith in? The GM. All the talk about guys not showing effort is being covered in Detroit this week. Especially in the third quarter of that game. Johnson is the type of coach who yells in your face and tells you to get your shyt together. That's not going to work if you have guys on the team who don't want to work, don't want to block, don't want to run through the whistle etc. And I'm just not sure Poles gives a shyt enough about that stuff to get the guys Johnson needs. This is not to absolve Johnson. Apparently he wanted Loveland, which was a terrible pick IMO. Good player but you didn't need him, and there were objectively better players on the board at positions of need.
I think Burden will be fine. He's from St Louis, same as Jameson Williams. Johnson and Randle El did a great job getting Jameson on the right track, after a rocky start and rumors about attitude. So you have the coaches to make that work.
