JJ McCarthy has a lot of "NFL throws" on his tape. I was actually surprised at how good some of his route tree throws were. Very good anticipatory throws in his film, but when you watch a full game, he struggles to get through a game and you can tell he's limited.

I'll say this, if the Bears pass on a QB in the 1st round and we end up with JJ MCCarthy in the 3rd or 4th, I wouldn't be upset. He's a game manager that makes some great anticipatory throws. THE BALL IS OUT ON TIME!!! This is something most College QBs are NOT doing. This translates to the NFL, great mechanics, great base, can throw through the Linebacker buzzing. He played in a pro style offense and his placement is nice. I love his deep digs and deep in throws. His upside isn't great but I think he can be an NFL starter with development time. His arm doesn't wow you and he doesn't make big throws down the field on the outside enough.

I would say this the 2026 draft class is loaded so if the bears finish like 6-11 they would be in position for a good QB Caleb isn't it he had WR open all night he either missed them or over threw them and I don't think poles or Ben will sit on the hands and let Caleb start next year if he doesn't improve

I agree with you but some of the throws he missing is so pedestrian and neccesary you can't win if they are being missed.

He'll do some crazy shyt off schedule but BJ is 1000% not going to go for him missing wide open touchdowns every game.
