Kota Ibushi has admitted the offer from WWE but denied to sign it

“Japanese Golden star” Kota Ibushi is reported to sign with WWE. After He came back to Japan from WWE Cruiserweight classic, he got a interview from Japanese media and denied the rumor.

-Is it true that you has signed the contract with WWE?

Ibushi : No. I just know the news. I have not signed any. But everytime I go to WWE, they said “when do you decide it?” to me. They offer me, but I refuse to sign it so far.

-So the rumor is not true?

Ibushi : No. lol. but they asked me to sign it.

Ibushi said the offer is true but it is not true that he has signed it. Ibushi also said he wants to get IWGP heavy weight championship and do anywhere match in Tokyo Street with 10,000 fans. And another interview of Shinsuke Nakamura, he said “I think Ibushi may not sign with WWE. because of his character. He wants to do in Japan.”

The appeal of the anywhere match is too strong :yeshrug:

:yeshrug: Just trying to maximize his value, but I dont see New Japan giving him that push (even though I would enjoy it) if he keeps going around the world researching.

Maybe he also wants be a part of DDT's 20th anniversary next year.

So far in NXT they have:

-top talent from Japan (Nakamura, Hideo Itami, Asuka, Kota Ibushi)

-top talent from TNA (Samoa Joe, Roode, Eric Young, Austin Aries)

-some of the best indy stars (Athena, Tommaso Ciampa, Rich Swann, Biff Busick, Johnny Gargano)

And they still have the main roster wrestlers. How will the WWE properly use ALL of these people?
I don't know, but it's a good problem to have.

I bet WWE execs are scratching their head by him saying no. "Yeah come in, do this CWC thing and well, you never know". Does his first match, Full Sail loves the dude, he walks back through the curtain. "Awesome, we want to sign you" "No. I want to wrestle blow-up doll and then fight Kenny Omega in an arcade in Tokyo dressed as Pacman" :what:

If Vince knew how crazy he was, he'd be moving mountains to sign him.

The latest information of Kota Ibushi’s WWE signing

NJPW held the G1 climax show at Shizuoka today. And surprisingly, Kota Ibushi was also at Shizuoka today. He wasn’t there for G1 Climax but for the fan event. He talks about the WWE rumor, his future, and more. Here is the highlight.

-Have you signed with WWE?
Ibushi : No. I refused to sign the full time deal with WWE. But I think I may keep wrestling in WWE as spot.

-What is your dream?
Ibushi : My dream is to become the most famous wrestler in the world.

-Can you beat even lion?(Question from a kid)
Ibushi : Yes. I can beat lion.

-Are you going to wrestle in Japan too?
Ibushi : Yes. I can’t say the detail but I am already booked some matches.

Ibushi did stiff and beautiful high kick to his fan.

DDT probably already trying to figure out a way to book Ibushi vs a lion in a camping ground match :lupe:
