The movie will air on Lifetime :scust:
Lifetime has recently announced it will be shifting creative gears away from its routine programming in order to help tell the important (and devastating) story surrounding the ongoing water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

As reported, Queen Latifah, Jill Scott and Marin Ireland have all been recruited to star in the original movie, which is currently slated to begin production next week in Toronto.

According to the announcement, the film will follow the true story of three women from Flint who each have taken a stand against the injustices committed against the residents who were drinking the city's water without prior knowledge it was contaminated by lead.

The film will highlight the real-life actions of these three women, whose activism inspired a national movement calling for safe drinking water despite being met with political opposition.

As reported, Katie Couric will co-executive produce the film, along with Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere.

Following its announcement, the film has been openly met with criticism due to the fact that Flint, Michigan is still without clean water, despite the issue making national headlines for years. Hopefully the project will help bring more awareness (and funds) to help solve the issue at hand.
