Neg me but im going to say it. Darker skin people from my experience are much more color obsessed than lighter skin people.
But I'm not saying it from a judgmental point of view. I actually sympathize and not look down on darker skin folks who have these issues because honestly a lot of times it's because they grow up being made fun of and harassed for their dark skin and internalize those feelings and it sticks with them. The thing is, I've seen dark skin people shytting on other dark skin people for being dark more than anyone growing up. I remember I knew this fat dark skin chick who would call other people dark and ugly
. Initially, this shyt confused me but when you think about it, she probably suffered a lot of denigration for her dark skin and she knows how much it hurt. So, from her perspective she learned that in order to hurt someone, go after how dark they are. It all stems from internalized self-hatred perpetuated by other black folks unforunately.
