I never even knew of this guy and his history (bodyguarding for Nicky Barnes and having a dojo in NYC Chinatown)

Towards the end of the interview he also alluded to a movie which was the catalyst to Wild Style. Never saw it until now:

This makes the movie Devil's Express 1976 a lot clearer in terms of the (back drop/ time period) as it takes place around the same time as what this guy is talking about.
