I just saw that trump was being asked about it now, and is involved.

I understand thr daughter is a host on GMA, but a missing persons case usually doesn't garner this type of coverage and involve the President.

I hope they find her and she's safe, but Is there something bigger at play here?

I already mentioned that and I understand that, but a president being involved and non-stop coverage is unprecedented.

If it was the anchor herself that was missing, that's another story. Again, I hope she is OK and still alive.

This is the real answer. The rich are terrified by the thought of rich people getting kidnapped for ransom in this economy. I wouldn't be surprised if they get any of the people involved and go for the death penalty to discourage anyone else from trying something like this.
