Bobby/Rowdy/GS9 represent the vast majority of NYC heads under the age of I would say 25. The look and aesthetic especially is what represents most of how young NYC dress. NYC kids in their 20's still have a distinct style and pay attention to small details just like previous gen's (like a grey underbrim vs. black brim, how your timbs are rocked, expensive coats,). GS9 epitomized young NYC ALOT more than A$AP, Pro Era, Dave East, and Bronson, at best A$AP comes in a very distant second if we are talking about true representation.
Dave East represents Uptown style/aesthetic very well ( Uptown in this context being East Harlem, South Bronx,Dyckman/The Heights) specifically those in the age range 26-30 range. His style for better or for worse is heavily influenced by early 2000's Philly/NYC mixtape flows, and he struggles to get out of that box. That is why older NYC heads from that era have so much love for East, no one has gotten as much love from that era as East has.
Pro Era is straight up forced and manufactured imo, that is not to say there aren't early 20 year olds who are into boom bap era sound but to the extent that they are, ?! Na waaaay to suspect for me.
French and Fab represent the flashy drug dealer, a continuation of Cam's lane from a decade ago.
Even with the southern and drill influence, you are still going to see cats under the age of 25 still spitting with that Philly/Mixtape style if you do a quick search of young NYC MC's on youtube. Sadly as a result of that era's de-emphasis on song construction/mastering of chorus creation, these kids still can't mold their style into something that can be sold outside the Tri-state.
