You don't have to watch it but the little cameos and references would be made a little better. And you'd get a little backstory on where he was before Harlem.

Plus I liked Jessica Jones.

Anyways it's a spin-off supposedly cuz he was a character in her show. I don't know or remember if either one was in Daredevil tho. That series I saw both seasons. I think I heard the punisher was getting his own show. I got so much to catch up with on Netflix. I saw narcos but got so much to catch up on elsewhere.
