R.I.P Nujabes - Today Will Be 10 Years Since His Passing

Nujabes (Jun Seba) died February 26th, 2010. It really doesn't feel like that long ago. It's an understatement to say that he is one of my favorite producers. His music introduced me to the Chillhop/Nu Jazz genre. Dude was truly ahead of his time and he will never be forgotten.

Metaphorical music is the soundtrack to my college years.
This man inspired an entire genre...all this chillhop stuff that's big now is based on his sound. Way ahead of his time.
Dang, I can't believe its been 10 years I remember I was looking for when his new shyt was dropping and read through this half Japanese half English article saying he passed

He made some great music. His death was tragic and unexpected. I know he’s Japanese and not American but he should be celebrated in hip hop a lot more.

I remember being so thankful that I discovered him because I use to study to his beats. Passed my license exam studying him. Man I use to say to myself Nujabes saved my life cause I could never study well before him and now I am on doing well for myself. Forever thankful.


Was just thinking listening to that new Royce that first half of the beat on Dope Man sounds like some nujabes shyt
