My dear Coli family, it is with sadness that I have to announce my brother (avatar) has passed on 5/30/2020 at the age of 58. No, it was not from covid, but under the current circumstances, it was something that was never experienced before. He had cardiac arrest on 5/27/2020 and was airlifted from one hospital to another. NO VISITORS ALLOWED. They went through a 48 hour plus procedure to cool his body down and heat back up to see if they could get a response, but he had very little function due to his heart being stopped for 40 minutes before they could get it beating back on its own. Because he would be in a vegetative state beyond that, I was allowed to go to the hospital and see him off before taking him off life support. At first they said only 2 people at a time, but then they said 2 people PERIOD and only ONE bedside. They did allow me and my wife to both be bedside and we were able to say what we had to say and called several of our closest relatives on the phone so they could have final words. Its tough because you cant get any closer as we were as brothers. We talked a lot in the past couple of years about physical death. Recently we talked about a lot of people were going to be making the transition in 2020. I just lost my cousin, my sister's brother-in-law and now my brother in the past 4 weeks. This is a difficult time we are living in and I just wanted to share that and have you join me in sending my brother Rayford eternal light on his transition to the next life.
