I salute X for that,based off the stuff I've seen on the net,he's a real people person,idk why you guys clown him for that and praise some lukewarm fronting rappers that be on some superstardom diva shyt.

We dont know but my guess as a fan would be that a few labels feared investing in him. Even before he got on Def Jam it was like that. A risky investment. Artists are investments, no doubt about that. But thnx to Gotti getting a position at Def Jam it definitely helped. Plus, Lyor is a greedy mf who only care about $. But he takes risks & protects his artists tbh. Lyor been in it for so long. Hate him or love him.
When X first had that deal with Columbia in the early 90's, they feared the same thing and at times he would act on it.
He's a reckless person who one of those rare ones who about what he spit, unfortunately. Makes for great music, but not so well for the person obviously. It's not just the drugs, but of course it doesnt help. He been robbing cats. He been about that dog life. He been in & out the system since he was a kid. That drug shyt been off & on since he was at least a teen. Alot of cats rapping did/do hard drugs too. But especially at the time. But luckily many didnt get addicted to it as far as we know. Not justifying it btw, just sayin.
When he got on Def Jam he knuckled up quite a few execs. From Chris Lighty, to 1 or 2 other ones. Chris Lighty was wrong in that situation tho IMO. Dont know about the others.
So its mostly that. X been X. He a good person but he's really how he raps together with other minor few.
