It was recently revealed that Rage Against the Machine had launched a new website, prophetsofrage.com, with a countdown clock leading to June 1. Public Enemy's Chuck D seemed to hint at his involvement via Twitter. ("Prophets of Rage" is the name of a Public Enemy song.) Then, reports surfaced that it wasn't counting down to a Rage Against the Machine reunion announcement, but would involve live performances. Now, sources have told Billboard exactly who the Prophets of Rage are: a supergroup featuring three-quarters of Rage Against the Machineβ€”Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilkβ€”plus Chuck D and Cypress Hill's B-Real. Zack de la Rocha is reportedly not involved. They're reportedly set to debut at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3 and will perform songs by all three groups.

Played their first show in L.A. last night. Set list included classics from all 3 groups. No to the Rage covers but I'm down for an album of new material from the Prophets. Time for Tom to accept the fact that Zack is done with Rage. Dude has no problem taking time away from playing Mr. Mom to his 3 step kids for Run the Jewels gigs but he can't be bothered with anything Rage related? Just come out with a full album of new shyt with Chuck and B and keep it moving.

Zach fell off IMO. People keep wanting him to come back like some savior, I just don't think he has it in him. The last song he released a few years back was meh at best.

This sort of reminds me of Ice T with Body Count but way less thrash/heavy/over the top. Hopefully they do well and Chuck D gets to eat off touring/music. Anything that involves Hip Hop legends like him should be supported IMO.

Really? I thought his verse on the Run the Jewels song was tight and the One Day as a Lion EP had a couple of good tracks but the rest of his post Rage stuff has been forgettable. He's probably at a point in his life now where music is secondary to his family and community activism. Can't hold that against him. With you on Chuck though. :salute:to him.

Should have had Jedi Mind Tricks and Immortal Technique in there too. Needed some underground acts in this. Would have made it the perfect "fight the power" type of tour.

Yeah I am not faulting him at all and honestly, his previous work was so good it is hard to top it. I still give him props for giving us some good music. I just haven't liked anything lately.

Chuck D I think will bring his own uniqueness to the project that Zach couldn't. Chuck is an MC who was doing this before Zach anyways.

Being from the west coast I always thought cypress hill was cheesy. They got 1 or 2 songs that are cool, but the rest of their shyt is meh.
