With a sheepish grin, bulging muscles from an offseason workout program, and nothing covering his surgically repaired right knee, Rajon Rondo walked around the Celtics practice facility at media day Monday in surprisingly wonderful spirits.

A few Floors Down from the Daily Grind
Gary Dzen of Boston.com:

Asked about the departures of Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett, Rondo was unemotional.

It wasn’t difficult at all,” said Rondo. “I didn’t feel anything. I actually landed in LA the night of the draft. I had 45 text messages come through the phone. I thought I was traded.

“It’s not the first teammates that I’ve been close to who were traded away — Perk, Tony Allen. It’s part of the process. This is a fresh start for us, a new coach and a new team. I’m excited about the fresh start.”

:banderas:

This shyt needs to be a smiley or something..

What do you mean by back?

http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story...ton-celtics-not-setting-sights-miracle-return

"When I'm mentally ready, I'll play," Rondo said. "Until you go through this type of injury -- a lot of people gave Derrick Rose a lot of heat about not playing, or whatever the case may be -- this injury isn't easy. It's more mental when you come back, and you get around 10-11 months, it's just feeling confident. You want to feel confident, especially the type of players and competitors we are.

Asked when he plans to return, Rondo quipped, "the 2013-2014 season."

Pressed on that vague timeline, he offered, "Probably sometime in the winter. Maybe the fall."

pointless for him to play this year, get another high pick in a deep draft and go from there.

never understood all the rondo hate :ehh:

He looks like one of the space jam monstars, he's a notorious head case, and he has the jump shooting ability of a fat kid in sixth grade...and jumpshooting isnt an innate skill, its an acquired one that takes practice and determination, i.e hes getting by on natural ability and not much more.

Yet he continually has one of the highest assist rates, consistently is one of the best rebounders at his position and runs an offense extremely well.

You just proved the point i made in my other post
