Rah was futuristic with it. No one was rhyming like him. He singlehandedly pushed the art form ahead by leaps & bounds. There is a clear distinction between emcees before & after Rakim.
It's crazy when you think about it, like how did Ra see it so clearly? In a climate of ABC's and 123's, somehow he introduced Pi. That vision and confidence to not only stand out but to take it to another plateau.
The R is a Hip Hop God, Paid in Full & Follow the Leader are still amazingly perfect albums that haven't aged a bit.
Ra's never dropped a wack verse in his life.
