Before you take this as an endorsement of Rand Paul, hear me out. Paul has been the only person in Congress to speak about problems in the African-American community. He has been talking about unfair treatment of blacks in the court system for awhile. He has campaigned across many different cities to empty rooms because everyone automatically writes him off.

With the Ferguson situation, he has been the most vocal and to the point. Of course he blends it in with his whole demilitarization argument which does also have merit. Some people are saying he is just pandering to the black cause for votes. I say so what. A politician's goal is to get votes in order to stay in office.

What has Hillary Clinton said about Ferguson or blacks in the court system? What has Elizabeth Warren or any other potential candidate said or done? Just because they're democrats they have our best interest? It's hard to get a democract to even speak the word African-American without their fear of alienating other minorities.

Hillary Clinton has been taking cheap shots at Obama for years. Recently it was about his foreign policy and in the 2008 primary she was discrediting MLK. She mentioned it was LBJ that passed the Civil Rights Act and not MLK. Well no shyt LBJ was President and MLK wasn't. However it was our lobbying efforts that made it a reality.

The LGBT, Oil, Insurance, Finance, and more all have their lobby teams together getting stuff passed. You think any of this is an accident or a game? The smartest industries lobby both sides and could care less who the candidate or political party he/she belongs to. All the marching in the world isn't going to get anything done without telling these elected officials what we want or be prepared to lose our vote.

Rand Paul is not the only one speaking out. Honestly, what he has said isn't anything more than what Holder has said in my eyes. What happened to that Coli-like TV show BTW fam

Has he taken any serious steps towards organizing people on this issue? Does he have a plan of what he'd like to do to fix the situation or is he just speaking?

I had posted in the screenwriters thread in the film room for help doing more, but didn't get much of a response. The one I did do took took alot of time and maneuvering. I'm willing to do some more if people are down.

He has taken the steps of actually going to the people to talk, but no one shows up. My point is if he's willing to gesture like he wants to do something we should show up and force him to make good on his word.

We can't expect one person to mobilize ourselves for us. It's something we have to do.

But that said, talk is cheap. When somebody from either side drafts some legislation regulating what these cops can do, they'll have my attention.

a few more of "these" types of situations getting air time and it'll happen. People need to do what is being done now...lose their fukin minds. I personally know at least 2-4 people who were a little sketchy in response to Travon, but after sending them the subway shooting where they capped dude while he was handcuffed, the recent dude sleeping on the train and literally every bit of police brutality, regardless of race well at least 4 right now have seen the light...and i'mtalking about some pretty fukin conservative types that are like, "damn that's just wrong".

Doesn't seam like much, but the more and more people that get led to the truth...hopefully it'll make a difference.
