If yes, Why can't he lift it if he's all powerful?

If no, why can't he create it if he's all powerful?

When I win I bring we with me
What exactly is your conception of god? :jbhmm:

:hubie:
EXAMPLE:
One of the primary church founding fathers of Western Christianity; Saint Thomas Aquinas, specifically stated that god can't be physical ....(something about any physical item can be split in two thus destroyed and given "God" can't be destroyed [per some quotation in the bible] "GOD" can then only be spiritual i.e. non physical. )

Those early church fathers were Neo-Platonist proto-scientist attempting to make the events of the bible both literal and rational. The materialist bent of science in it's methodology hadn't hit yet so these proto-scientist had no problem defining a thing as "spiritual", "metaphysical", etc.

Anyway, It's been a long time since I read it but the point is that different folks conceive of the entity referred to as "GOD" differently. In which case they would approach this question from wildly different assumptions than you or the next person.

SIDENOTE: this is one of the reasons why I laugh at atheist championing science over religion because it was the philosophical notions of their ideological forefathers which defined large chunks of the mechanizations of Christianity. As a result these type of atheist that talk like they are reprimanding irrational Christians when the christian ideas they rail against likely come from people who used similar philosophical approaches to knowledge creation as themselves.

I'm not an atheist. I believe in God. I just thought it was a cleverly worded question. :hubie:

God exists in a reality and dimension outside of what we can comprehend. The "answer" would basically be that yes he can create a rock he cant lift and then when he gets serious he can lift it.

we are like haters breh. we can't see him in anything. he better than all of us. He moves everything without us knowing. God runs shyt. we just live here.

Great answers :obama:

You're mistaking the words you use with some kind of objective reality

G-d is not blinking things into existence like I Dream of Jeanie.

The act of creation was the Big Bang. It is ongoing but it happens through evolution and things like that. Not creating things out of thin air.

CAN YOU CREATE A ROCK SO BIG YOU CANT MOVE IT?

Absolutely. Easily. You CA create a barrel of water so heavy you can't lift it

GOD IS BOUND BY HIS PROMISES AND EVEN THE RULES HE CREATES. IF GOD PROMISES TO NOT LIFT THAT ROCK IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT HE CAN'T. IT JUST MEANS HE WON'T. DOESN'T MEAN HE CAN'T CREATE SOMETHING TO LIFT IT FOR HIM, THOUGH.

:jbhmm:

This may not make sense, but try to follow me here:

Let's say you're a one dimensional being... you can only move forward and backward.

You ask, "Can God create something that stops everyone, even him, from going forward?"

Again, you're a One Dimensional being... so if you can't go forward, then the only option is to go backwards or nowhere at all-- This is your problem.

You're trying to box God into your one dimensional frame of thinking... when God can go forward, backward, left, right, up, down, two ways at once (diagonal), etc

In short, even if he couldn't lift the rock, he could lift the earth that holds the rock. Or lower/remove the earth altogether and place an completely different planet under the rock. That type of shyt. Your question is far too limited.
