If the fire alarm wasn't already going off, it is now. The problem for them is the time to make changes was during the offseason.

Their flameout could be excused by injuries (again...) and Indiana having a run for the ages. All their guys still had high value.

Now? I don't see how anybody on the roster besides Mitchell would fetch a good return. Maybe Mobley would get a decent return but he's on a full max contract because of that bogus DPOY he got and there's nothing to suggest he'll ever be anything more than a third option.

I think they coulda called Orlando and got the Bane package in return for Garland over the summer but now?

He isn't as bad as his play this season but he's an undersized guard who's always banged up when the playoffs come around and the nagging injuries are becoming more frequent. That on a massive contract is not appealing.

They rolled the dice on bringing everybody back and it's blowing up in their face.
